Neighbors in the area reported hearing gun shots at about 12:15 a.M. A passing motorist witnessed an unknown male standing over golleher in the intersection. This individual fled the scene when he was illuminated by the motorist's headlights. Victim description: mr. Golleher was described a white male, 5'10" tall, and weighed 160 lbs. With shoulder-length brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a brown, red, and green plaid hip jacket; a red, black, and tan plaid shirt; and grey corduroy pants.

In the early morning hours of april 13, 1946, the fully clothed torso of an unidentified middle-aged female was found floating in the willamette river near oak grove. On april 14, 1946, the torso's arms and legs were located in the willamette river. On october 13, 1946, the corresponding head was found in the willamette river in the oak grove area. Investigators determined that the cause of death was a blunt force injury to the head. Her head, arms and legs were then sawn off. The body was then wrapped in feed bags and weighted down with window sash weights. The victim has never been identified, nor has a suspect been identified. The victim is described as a caucasian female with brown and gray hair. She was 40-50 years of age, 5'2"-5'4" in height and roughly 125 lbs.

On august 31, 1993, at approximately 1:20 am, portland police officers searching the area near the 8700 block of n lombard street in st. John’s encountered a man staggering in the street covered in blood. Portland fire was called and the victim was pronounced dead on the scene. The victim, norman elias aguillon, a 42-year-old hispanic man, had been stabbed multiple times in front of 8703 n lombard street. Mr. Aguillon was not known to be associated with any local gangs but may have been associated with illicit drugs. Multiple witnesses report seeing three subjects exit a vehicle and assault the victim while a fourth drove. The vehicle has been described as an early 70’s to 80’s dark-colored sedan that was heavily dented. The subjects have been described as hispanic men in their mid-twenties while one was wearing a red football jersey.

On march 17, 1997, at approximately 4:20 am, a customer stepped into the plaid pantry at 917 sw gibbs st. Near ohsu to find the clerk jason childers, a 27-year-old white male, deceased on the floor. It was determined that mr. Childers died of multiple gunshot wounds while restocking the shelves of the plaid pantry. Mr. Childers was described as a mild-mannered, good person with a slightly childish personality. He had no criminal record or contacts with the police. No cash was missing from the cash register and childers’ wallet was still present. Detectives were able to determine that mr. Childers was last seen alive by a customer buying a pack of cigarettes between 3:45 and 4:00 am.

Victor smith was originally from spokane, washington, and had prior contacts with police regarding theft and burglary. He was also reported to be a user of methamphetamines and possibly carried firearms. Investigators discovered that victor smith was in the portland area in a stolen semi truck to sell stolen semi truck parts. He was in the company of another white male approximately 30 years of age just prior to his murder.

At approximately 6:25 pm on april 23, 1984, two friends were walking along the edge of a parking lot behind the apartment complex on the 1900 block of ne multnomah street when they observed what looked to be a female lying under some tree branches partially down the embankment where recent rail construction was taking place along interstate 84. Police were called and discovered vickie williams, a 19-year-old african-american woman, deceased along the embankment. An autopsy revealed that she died as the result of stab wounds. It was rumored that vickie williams occasionally engaged in prostitution. She was the mother of a young child at the time of her murder. Vickie was last seen on the evening of march 18 on the 2400 block of ne union avenue (now martin luther king, jr. Boulevard). She was last seen wearing a red blouse, dark pants with multicolored pin striping, white dirty tennis shoes, and a full length, dark purple raincoat.

On the afternoon of tuesday, november 7, 2000, a 9-1-1 call was received asking for the police to respond to an apartment address in the 12300 block of southeast kelly st. The caller stated his cousin had just been shot by intruders into the apartment. When police arrived, they found the deceased, tyrone duane abraham, in the apartment he shared with his girlfriend, corrine hoffard. She was not home at the time of the shooting, but the two-year-old son of mr. Abraham and ms. Hoffard was in the apartment at the time of the shooting. Mr. Abraham was shot in full view of his two-year-old son and his cousin, who had placed the 911 call. Mr. Abraham’s cousin was able to provide the police with a description of the intruders. He also said one of the intruders identified himself as “jb” and was apparently known to the victim. It was also apparent from the circumstances of the homicide that the homicide was planned in advance of the intruders’ entry into the apartment. A neighbor reported seeing subjects flee from the apartment to a white 4-door vehicle which then left the area on southeast kelly st. There had been reports to the police about drug activity in the apartment complex. Mr. Abraham had been arrested for drug possession in the past and also had been known to have gang contacts.

Early in the morning on june 22,1995, officers were called to the 500 block of ne ivy street at approximately 4:00 am after multiple reports of shots fired. Officers were unable to find anything amiss in the neighborhood. At approximately 7:30 in the morning, a neighbor observed the residence at 526 ne ivy st. To be riddled with bullet holes and called portland police. Officers responded, finding toyreia “toya” sonea martin, a 21-year old african-american woman, lying deceased in her bed. An autopsy was performed and ms. Martin’s cause of death was determined to be the result of multiple gunshot wounds to the torso. Toya martin was known to have a criminal record as well having affiliations with multiple gangs in the area. Investigators believe this to be gang-related.

On september 18, 2004, at about 1:00 p.M., portland fire bureau (pfb) responded to 9742 n james street, to the report of smoke coming from the house. Once pfb was on scene they observed smoke inside the residence. They made entry into the home where the victim, thomas swift, a 57-year-old white male, was lying on the ground of the main floor of the residence. Firefighters pulled the mr. Swift out of the house and found he had a gunshot wound. The state medical examiner later determined that mr. Swift had died from his gunshot wound. Mr. Smith was described as being a very private person and would not disclose information regarding his personal life. He was known to frequent sauvie island on columbia beach. On september 28, 1987, two young men were searching for discarded bottles for their redemption value. They were looking in an area that was commonly used as a dump site by area residents. They found the partially decomposed body of timothy hoyt. Investigators determined that mr. Hoyt was known to associate with methamphetamine users. He was last seen alive at the address of 9506 n. Edison. Prior to that address being searched by detectives, it was consumed in an arson fire. The investigation also revealed that it is unlikely that mr. Hoyt was killed at the dump site where his body was recovered. Mr. Hoyt’s body was mutilated, but not beyond recognition. The suspect(s) in this case left mr. Hoyt’s mutilated body at the location where it was found in an apparent attempt to conceal his death. It didn’t work. A person of interest in this case is john macabee geary who also goes by the name of john thorsinger. He was described (in 1987) as a white male, 5’8”, 160 lbs, blonde hair with numerous tattoos on his arms and hands. Mr. Geary does not currently reside in the portland area. Detectives are also interested in talking to joann n. Reed, also known as debra behe or yo yo. She was born in 1967. Her mother resided in the area of 162nd and powell.

On september 29, 1997, a newspaper delivery man came across the victim lying in the street next to his bicycle near the intersection of north haight avenue and killingsworth street. The victim, 47-year-old white male timothy warren “timm” kruger, was deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. A witness reported seeing a small to mid-sized older model sedan with a white or light-colored hood and roof with its headlights off strike the victim at the time of the shooting. On july 25, 1993, at approximately 12:34 p.M., residents in the area of the 1400 block of se belmont heard gunshots. A neighbor left his apartment and went across the street to 1403 se belmont, a video rental store. On the sidewalk in front of the store, he found the owner, thang thi nguyen, also known to neighbors as “lilly,” lying on the sidewalk. She was bleeding and obviously seriously hurt. She said to the neighbor, “they killed me, they killed me.” 911 was called, medical personnel responded and transported ms. Nguyen to the hospital, where she later died. An autopsy determined that ms. Nguyen died of gunshot wounds. A passing motorist that day notified police later that he saw two asian males running from the area at about the time of the shooting. Another motorist had driven by the store earlier in the day and saw two young asian males standing at the door of the video store. A white midsize vehicle may be associated with these two males. Based upon ms. Nguyen’s statement that “they” killed me, investigators believe that it is likely that more than one person was involved in this shooting. Ms. Nguyen was known to many in the area and described as “the nicest person in the neighborhood”. Her family told investigators that she was not the kind of person to resist if someone was trying to rob her. She would just give them the money. Investigators are unsure if robbery was a motive, but believe that ms. Nguyen’s purse may have been taken.

On january 21, 2005, at 7:15 p.M., officers responded to 5904 ne 9th avenue, to the report of a shooting. Upon officers arriving at the location, they found the victim, tameka rene hartley, a 25-year-old african-american female had been shot while standing on her front porch. Medics responded to the residence and transported her to a local hospital. Ms. Hartley died while in surgery from the gunshot wound. Witnesses reported seeing a vehicle heading north on 9th avenue driving slowly. They reported hearing and seeing about six shots fired from the passenger side of the vehicle in the direction of ms. Hartley’s residence. The vehicle was described as a dark-colored, small to mid-sized two-door car speeding north on 9th avenue following the shots. On march 25, 1999, central precinct officers were summoned to an apartment building in the 2100 block of nw davis street by the manager of the apartments. When the officers contacted the manager, he told them that there was a “foul odor” emanating from apt #106. He also told them that apt 106 was rented to a subject named sven gomez. The manager let the officers into the apartment and as they searched, they discovered the partially decomposed body of a male. They were unable to determine at the time if it was the body of sven gomez. The person that was found in the apartment presented in such a manner that the officers immediately contacted homicide detectives. Homicide detectives responded, searched the scene and attended the autopsy of the found body. The autopsy revealed that the person died of asphyxiation. The body was identified as sven rodriguez gomez. Sven gomez was a 32-year-old hispanic male immigrant from columbia, south america. Investigators believe that he was last seen alive on march 17, 1999. He was employed as a bus boy at a nearby restaurant. He was openly gay and frequented bars in downtown portland.

He was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died from his wounds. Sharveil moorer was reported to be a former member of the kerby block crips and worked with his father in the scrap metal business.

On december 16, 1976, 17-year old sharon ryan was making cookies at her sister’s house in the 2400 block of ne flanders. Sharon realized that there were no eggs at her sister’s house and that she needed some for the cookie recipe. She told her sister that she was going to walk to a nearby store to buy eggs and would be right back. She never returned. When sharon had not returned in about a half-hour, her sister became alarmed and began to search the neighborhood with her husband. After searching for approximately one-and-a-half hours, they called the police and made out a missing report on sharon. Sharon’s sister told the police that sharon was a high school senior at grant high school, was very reliable and had never done anything like this before. On december 18, 1976, friends and family of sharon ryan again searched the area and a friend found an egg carton and broken eggs in a parking lot near sharon’s home. Sharon’s body was subsequently found in an isolated, grassy area next to the parking lot and had been partially covered with plant material. Portland police responded to the scene and an autopsy revealed that sharon had been sexually assaulted and died from homicidal violence.

On the evening of november 2, 1975, sharon coleman, a 25-year old african-american female, suffering from a gunshot wound, was driven to a local hospital by a friend. Ms. Coleman was pronounced dead at the hospital a short time later. Ms. Coleman had been driving southbound on ne union avenue (now martin luther king, jr. Blvd.) in a 1969 yellow buick skylark near the intersection of ne union and ne lombard between 6 and 7 p.M. When an unknown car occupied by an unknown number of suspects pulled up asking to talk to sharon and her friend. The suspects fired shots into the vehicle, striking ms. Coleman. Seeing that she had been hit, her friend moved her to the passenger seat and drove to a nearby hospital. Sharon coleman was a single mother with a young daughter. Ms. Coleman worked for pacific northwest bell and had no known criminal record.

On november 13, 1985, police were called to a gravel parking area on the 10,000 block of ne marine drive regarding a possible deceased individual in a parked vehicle. Police discovered that roystrom “roy” evalt, a 41-year-old white man, was deceased in his 1969 brown chevrolet stepvan. An autopsy revealed that mr. Evalt had died of apparent stab wounds. Roy evalt was reported to be semi-transient and lived in his van which he had converted to accommodate his lifestyle. He was described as being very trusting and somewhat naïve. Numerous individuals reported seeing mr. Evalt’s van at the same location for weeks if not months. Investigators determined that roy was murdered in a time from tuesday, november 12 through wednesday the 13.

Mr anderson was not employed at the time of his disappearance. He was allegedly a drug user and may have been involved in some criminal activity. Approximately three months after mr anderson’s disappearance his ex-wife received a phone message from an unknown female. In effect, this message said that mr anderson had been killed. Detectives later learned that mr anderson’s mother had received a similar message from an unknown female. Mr anderson’s relatives are convinced that he has been killed. Mr anderson’s body has never been recovered. Investigators are convinced that numerous people in the community have either direct or indirect information about this probable death. They are asking your help to bring closure to the family of mr anderson.

On february 4, 2006, at 5:34 p.M., officers responded to the intersection of ne failing street and ne garfield avenue, on the report of shots fired. Upon arrival, they found robert wardale seeger, a 24-year-old african-american male, lying on the sidewalk deceased from a gunshot wound. Mr. Seeger was most likely the victim of a robbery. Witnesses reported seeing 5-6 african-american males in their 20’s, wearing hooded coats with the hoods up, and possibly wearing bandannas over their faces. On august 29, 1988, police responded to a welfare check at 2612 n. Holman, which was called in by the granddaughter of the occupants of that residence. Police entered the residence where they discovered the bodies of robert wheatley, 61, and frieda wheatley, 69, in the basement. The medical examiner determined the cause of death as strangulation. Detectives believe that the wheatley’s died on august 27, 1988. It is apparent from the crime scene that the motive was robbery. There was no sign of forced entry. On august 29, 1988, police responded to a welfare check at 2612 n. Holman, which was called in by the granddaughter of the occupants of that residence. Police entered the residence where they discovered the bodies of robert wheatley, 61, and frieda wheatley, 69, in the basement. The medical examiner determined the cause of death as strangulation. Detectives believe that the wheatley’s died on august 27, 1988. It is apparent from the crime scene that the motive was robbery. There was no sign of forced entry. Early in the morning on june 22,1976, at approximately 1:30 am, richard williams, his wife, and a group of friends were in irving park off of fremont street playing on the swings when an unidentified individual began firing at them from a distance. Mr. Williams, a 20 year-old white man, was hit by one of these gunshots. He and the others ran across the park to their vehicle where he collapsed. He was then transported to a nearby hospital, where he died as the result of the gunshot wound. Richard williams was on active duty in the us navy in bremerton where he was stationed and living with his wife. Mr. Williams and his wife were in the portland area to visit relatives of mr. Williams’ wife. Detectives discovered empty shell casings near the restrooms near the swings in irving park.

On june 14, 1984, two individuals at the waterfront near the intersection of nw davis and front avenue (now naito parkway) spotted someone floating in the river at approximately 3:30 pm. A nearby portland fire station was contacted and both police and fire responded to the scene. They discovered that the victim, richard tauriainen, a 53-year-old white man, was deceased. An autopsy revealed that he had died as the result of traumatic injuries. Richard tauriainen was a veteran of the korean war which had affected him enough to become transient and lose contact with his family. He has been described as balding with a full mustache and graying beard at the time of his death.

An autopsy revealed that myrtle thomas had died from multiple stab wounds. Myrtle thomas led a reclusive lifestyle and had no known family. She had no known criminal record. There was no sign of forced entry or evidence of a robbery. A young neighbor witnessed a white male with long, blonde hair and a full beard sitting on the victim’s steps the evening before ms. Thomas had died.

On september 28, 2000, at about 3:15pm, a father and his adult son were together at a vehicle parked outside a relative’s residence in the 4700 block of n. Congress avenue. Various witnesses saw a suspect approach the father, myron dean govan and his son, darius mendel martin, open fire on them and then run from the scene. Mr. Govan was pronounced dead at the scene. Mr. Martin was transported to emanuel hospital, where he died several hours later. The suspect was described by the witnesses as an african-american male, 20-30 years old, 5’9”-6’ tall, 180-200 pounds with either a short afro or his hair pulled back and wearing gloves. The victim’s had just left the relative’s residence and there was no indication of a dispute between them and the suspect before the shooting. A vehicle possibly associated with the suspect was described as two-tone, silver over dark blue ’85 – ’87 chevrolet astro van. There were multiple witnesses who saw the suspect before the shooting and running from the scene. The detectives who investigated the homicides believe there are people in the community who know who the suspect is and why he shot the victims. The family and loved ones of myron govan and darius martin are still waiting for answers and justice.

On july 7, 1996, at approximately 3 a.M., michael west was riding in a vehicle that was stopped at the intersection of n. Willliams avenue and ne alberta street for the traffic light. When the light turned green, the driver of the vehicle heard some gunshots, yelling and more gunshots. He looked around and saw that two of his three passengers had been wounded. He immediately drove to emmanuel hospital to obtain medical care for his passengers. Once at emmanuel, emergency medical personnel contacted the police because the injuries that were suffered by the passengers were the result of gunshots. Police responded and were advised that one passenger suffered non-life threatening injuries while michael arvell west was deceased. Michael west and the other injured passenger had both been riding in the back seat of the vehicle. A later autopsy revealed that michael west died as a result of gunshot wounds to the brain. Michael west was a 28-year-old african-american male, 5’10”, 170 lbs. Earlier that evening, michael had encountered some “bloods” gang members at a nearby tavern. Michael appeared to know these people, but there didn’t seem to be any animosity at the time.

On april 30, 1986, michael koseniensky and his wife were at their home on the 3500 block of se 80th avenue when a knock was heard at the front door at approximately 9:58 pm. Mr. Koseniensky, a 33-year-old white man, answered the door and was shot. After hearing the gunshots, mr. Koseniensky's wife found him lying on the entry way floor and called 911 immediately. Mr. Koseniensky was transported to a nearby hospital. He ultimately succumbed to his wounds on june 20. Michael koseniensky was reported to be a mechanic and car salesman. He was married and had no children. Mr. Koseniensky may have been involved in the sale of drugs at the time of his murder.
