The building also served as the location for an income tax service owned by “lulu” marlett, everett’s wife. The couple resided and operated their respective businesses in separate offices on the first level; they rented several rooms on the second floor plus five cabins at the rear of the building. Everett was known as a fancy dresser and a businessman who primarily sold bars and taverns through his realty business. Everett was married and had at least one child at the time of his death.Agency
