Jawara was on his way home to new york after leaving his father’s home in west haven where he had attended a family birthday party. Police responding to the I-95 exit ramp that night following reports of a shooting there found mr. Stennett suffering from a gunshot wound to his torso. As they circled the housing project two males crossed the street in front of their vehicle. Gary potak was driving and stopped to let these two individuals cross.
