Responding officers arrived in the area to discover Edwin “Eddie” Phillips, sixty seven years of Redding suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Phillips was transported via ambulance to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. Investigators later obtained video surveillance from a nearby business, which showed Edwin “Eddie” Phillips entering his business with an unknown subject and exiting a short time later, just prior to the shooting.
