On April 22, 1994, a witness traveling westbound on Interstate 8 noticed a fire south of the freeway near Arnold Way in Alpine. The witness saw a vehicle driving away from the location, heading north on Arnold Way. The witness exited the freeway and drove to the location of the fire. When the witness arrived at the location he noticed what he believed was a mannequin on fire in the roadway. When the fire was extinguished they discovered it was the remains of an unidentified adult male. The victim remained unidentified until December 2006. Cause of death was due to gunshot wounds.Agency

On October 9, 1987, a San Diego County road crew was finishing a job on Blossom Valley Road. They had been cleaning out a ditch overgrown with weeds and debris and had advanced to a spot where the backhoe nudged something hidden in the underbrush. It was the decomposed body of partly-clothed woman who was later identified as Diana Gail Moffitt. The detectives who conducted the preliminary death investigation ruled Moffitt’s death as suspicious. On february 1, 2004, at about 3:00 a.M., the above victims, maria (mother) and carmen (daughter) hernandez, were walking from their home in newark to maria's place of business. While walking on thornton ave in fremont, an unknown suspect began following behind the victims. The eventually began to chase the victims and caught up to them near the intersection of alameda dr and contra costa ave. The suspect bludgeoned both victims to death with a large tree branch. The branch was likely a weapon of opportunity and was possibly available due to the trees in the neighborhood being recently pruned and cut down. On saturday, july 25, 2015, at approximately 11:16 p.M., san jose police officers responded to the 1300 block of sunbeam circle on a person shot. Preliminary investigation revealed the victim was talking with other people on the driveway of a residence. A light colored compact vehicle pulled up next to them. The passenger, suspect #1, exited the vehicle, asked the victim if he was in a gang. The victim denied being in a gang and the suspect shot the victim. The suspect got back in the vehicle and fled the scene with suspect #2 driving. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he died a short time later.
