On January 25, 2007, at approximately 2:15 p.m., Emerson Zuniga, was found suffering from a life-threatening injury in the front yard of a house located on the 4300 block of Stevenson Blvd. During the initial investigation, witnesses told officers they had witnessed Zuniga fighting with two other men just before finding him. Witnesses indicated the fight was brief and ended with one male suspect embedding a large metal object into the top of Zuniga’s head.Agency

Sheri Lynn Muhleman was last seen February 27, 1989 at about 9:30 a.m. At that time Sheri was seen by her boyfriend (Michael Abraham) and his sister (Catherine Abraham) at Michael’s house located at 3473 Decoto Rd in Fremont, Ca. Sheri and Michael Abraham had a daughter in common who was five years old at the time of Sheri’s disappearance.Sheri was last seen packing up her personal belongings inside Michael’s house. Through witness statements, it was believed Michael didn’t trust Sheri to take care of their daughter nor the house while he was gone at a county sponsored Work Furlough Program.Based on current witness statements and physical evidence located at the Decoto address, it is believed Sheri is a victim of homicide. The whereabouts of Sheri’s body is unknown at this time.Agency

On March 8, 1982, at about 5:00 a.m., a deceased female, later identified as Kathy Ann Miramontes (Aka-Sweetie) was located at approximately 5:00 a.m. on Chase Court in the Niles district of Fremont. Miramontes’ body showed signs of extreme trauma. Fremont Detectives investigated the case, but it ultimately went unsolved. The Department’s cold case detective began reviewing the case approximately two and half years ago. After meeting with family and friends of Kathy Miramontes, her case was officially reopened in an effort to spark new leads in the investigation and ultimately provide closure to her family.Agency

While walking on Thornton Ave in Fremont, an unknown suspect began following behind the victims. The eventually began to chase the victims and caught up to them near the intersection of Alameda Dr and Contra Costa Ave. The suspect bludgeoned both victims to death with a large tree branch. The branch was likely a weapon of opportunity and was possibly available due to the trees in the neighborhood being recently pruned and cut down. The suspect was seen throwing the murder weapon on top of the victims and he was last seen running northbound on Contra Costa Ave.Agency

On October 5, 1982, at about 7:30 p.m. in the evening, Daniel Naylor, a 14 year old boy from Fremont, was last seen leaving his house on Nightingale Place in an unknown direction after an argument. After an extensive search conducted by Daniel’s neighbors, his bike was located not far away, along the Alameda Creek Trail. Additional follow up with miscellaneous leads and possible sightings of Daniel were met with negative results.Approximately one month after his disappearance, when no one was home, Daniel supposedly returned to his house and collected every piece of property that belonged to him. Daniel was never seen or heard from again and the case has since gone cold.Agency
